The Sir Llew Edwards Building is a focal point upon entry to the campus and complements the existing General Purpose 3 Building opposite. It was the second of two major projects Watpac completed for the University, the first being the Queensland Brain Institute.
The facility offers a gross floor area of approximately 9,000m2 and consists of two buildings in a V shape configuration with a roof covering both buildings and the large courtyard area between the buildings.The north building spans six levels while the south building is five levels and houses general offices, auditoriums and lecture theatres.
In 2009, the project received the 'Professional Excellence Award' from the Australian Institute of Building (National).
