Stage 1 works included extending and refurbishing the ground floor and improving access via road upgrades, a new taxi drop off area and the installation of new internal and external lifts. A new mezzanine level and extension to the south forecourt have also provided additional seating areas.
Following successful delivery of Stage 1, Watpac was awarded Stage 2 of the upgrade program. This involved the strip out and base-building upgrade to tenancy five as well as the refurbishment of the existing level three Customs Hall, façade, roadway and remediation of 1,800 square metres of existing ceiling linings.
In 2015, the project received the 'Site Safety Award for Commercial Projects up to $50 million' at the Master Builders New South Wales (State) Awards, and the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner's 'National Excellence in Workplace Health and Safety Award'.
