BRUV + KBRB Road Ecosciences Precinct

The Ecosciences Precinct, located on the 9.5ha Boggo Road Gaol site, is Australia’s first multi-agency centre dedicated to environmental issues. The precinct brings together over 1,000 research staff from leading Queensland and Federal research organisations at one central location. Features of this building include: laboratories – all types from general to PC2 and QC 3 standards; high performance computer room; shadehouses; greenhouses; insectaries and QC3 glass houses; and controlled environment facilities.

In 2011, the project was named 'Project of the Year' at the Master Builders Queensland (Brisbane) Awards and received the 'Professional Excellence Award - Commercial Construction $100 million plus' from the Australian Institute of Building.

Health and Food Sciences Precinct

The Health and Food Sciences Precinct, constructed within the Queensland Health Forensic and Scientific Services Complex at Coopers Plains, complements the Ecosciences Precinct. Scientists at Coopers Plains are researching advances in healthcare, medicine, food and nutrition. The precinct will support 190 scientific personnel features: offices; laboratories; necropsy facility; and a pilot plant facility.
