Many of Watpac’s projects have achieved official environmental accreditation from the Green Building Council of Australia, and/or NABERS, demonstrating our commitment to the environment has been recognised at industry level.
275 George Street, Brisbane: 5 Star Green Star—Office Design v2
275 George Street was one of the first buildings in Brisbane’s CBD to achieve this standard of ‘Australian Excellence’. The building design has the potential to save over 50 per cent of energy consumed annually. Read more about this project here, or download the project information sheet.
Lilyfield Housing Redevelopment, Sydney
5 Star Green Star—Multi Unit Residential PILOT rating: The Lilyfield Housing Redevelopment is the first social housing scheme in Australia to be awarded a Green Star rating. 25 Montpelier Road, Brisbane
4 Star Green Star—Office Design v2: 25 Montpelier Road is only the second building in Australia to receive a Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia on its first application. Read more about this project here, or download the project information sheet.
8 Central Avenue, Sydney
4 Star Green Star—Office Design v2: The 8 Central Avenue project is home to television and other media services, and as such the tenants will likely use a large amount of electricity. Despite this, the project has received a Green Star rating for design, and is also designed to achieve a 4.5-Star NABERS Office Energy rating. Download the project information sheet.
8 Australia Avenue, Sydney
4 Star Green Star—Design v2: 8 Australia Avenue is the first project undertaken by Watpac Property at Sydney Olympic Park, and has a strong ‘green’ focus. The design incorporates grey water recycling connections, and good solar orientation and sun shading to block the eastern and northern sun, reducing reliance on air-conditioning. The Zone, Sydney
4 Star Green Star—As Built v2; 4.5 Star NABERS Energy Base Building Rating: The Zone, located in Sydney Olympic Park, incorporates a number of features to make it a ‘green’ building. These include a recycled water system for cooling tower water, non-potable water uses, and landscape irrigation. Sun shades are affixed to the façade of the building to reduce air-conditioning use.
